This year’s edition of the Festival will take place from August 22 to 24. The program for the first two days will feature a total of 19 films: 10 short fiction films and 9 short documentaries. On the third and final day, along with the closing ceremony and the presentation of the Audience Awards (one for a fiction film and one for a documentary) -which, for the fourth year in a row, promote and confirm the festival’s interaction and dialogue with the audience- we will also honour the filmmaker Giorgos Georgopoulos, whose roots are in Ikaria, and screen his latest award-winning film “Patty Is Such a Girly Name”; the film has already been shown at international festivals around the world and will make its Ikarian premiere in our event.
All screenings in the main programme will take place at the REX Municipal Open Air Cinema in Agios Kirikos, while before and after the three-day festival, screenings of ethnographic films from all over Greece will take place at various locations across the island as part of the “FROM PLACE TO PLACE” programme, the schedule for which will be announced shortly.
